Biography

My name is L. Mariño Barrera, better known as Chano since I was a little kid. I was born in Argentina in 1981, the youngest of five brothers. But in 1990, we moved with our mother to Spain.

I have always been interested in music, but I never had the chance to study in a music school. So, at the age of 13, I grabbed my oldest brothers' guitar and began learning how to play on my own. One or two years after, I grabbed my eldest brother's bass guitar and did the same, at home as well. And one or two years after, I did the same on drums, but that was at some friends' place.

In 1998, at the age of 17, I gave my first concert on guitar. It was an acoustic show, with my brother Germán and our friend Josete. In 2001, I joined my first band, on drums. And from then on, I haven't stopped playing in a large number of bands. I tell you about them in the music section of this very site.

Throughout the early years, I studied and worked in many different jobs, but I didn't like any of them. In 2001, I did a Photoshop course, and I liked it. That was a sign. So in 2008 I had the chance to study in a technical school, in 2010 I got my certificate as a Superior Sound Technician and worked as such during the following 2 years. In 2012, I got my certificate as a Video Editor on Avid MC and edited a few music videos, but I haven't had the chance to work as such... yet.

By the end of the year 2012, I moved to Southsea, UK, searching for better job opportunities. I am currently looking for a position in which my knowledge, my experience and my skills will be put to use. I would like to develop my abilities by working with people with different expertise and even more experienced. Hopefully, in the audio visual field.

In 2014, I moved back to South Madrid, Spain. Having found a part-time position in Casa de la Música (concert hall and rehearsal rooms) in Fuenlabrada, I started studying the Advanced Training Course in Image.
